Ross Mackinnon studied Architectural Design and Environmental Policy at RMIT in Melbourne. With a career spanning over 40 years, he has worked alongside renowned architects in both Melbourne and London, contributing to a wide range of projects—from intricate contemporary designs to historically significant and heritage-listed developments. His portfolio spans residential, civic, and institutional architecture. Ross’s vision for MacKinnon Design is rooted in a collaborative approach that fosters exceptional, sustainable outcomes. His work embraces a contemporary vernacular, thoughtfully integrated with the surrounding landscape. Recognised for his professionalism, creativity, and intuitive design sensibility, Ross is known for capturing the essence of each client’s brief. His work is meticulously detailed, uniquely expressive, and delivered within well-managed project timelines. Approachable and insightful, Ross values the conversations that lead to meaningful, well-crafted design solutions. He operates studios in both Mansfield and Sydney, and looks forward to partnering with clients to bring their architectural visions to life.
Stuart Beekmeyer is a registered landscape architect with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from RMIT and an Advanced Diploma in Horticulture from the University of Melbourne. He has contributed to a wide range of projects across Melbourne, rural Victoria, New York City, and Berlin, with a particular focus on finely detailed gardens and active urban landscapes. At MacKinnon, Stuart ensures that all landscape elements are fully integrated with the architectural vision, the overall master plan, and planning regulations. He finalizes construction packages and coordinates with external landscape consultants to align design concepts with budgetary requirements. With extensive experience in building design, he also contributes to the architectural design team as needed.
Grace studied Building Design at Swinburne University, driven by a passion for creating passive homes that combine aesthetic elegance with tailored, client-focused functionality. She is excited to collaborate with Ross and the MacKinnon team on residential, commercial, and institutional projects that reflect her design philosophies. Having grown up in Victoria’s High Country, Grace maintains a deep connection to the land and the values of rural communities. Her work is guided by a strong commitment to the sustainable development and enrichment of regional Australia.
Lucah has completed Building Design (Architectural) at Swinburne University of Technology and pursued further studies in the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) program at the same institution. He has developed a strong interest in town planning processes, comprehensive architectural detailing, and the design development phase. Lucah is committed to creating designs that are both contextually responsive and meticulously detailed, ensuring each project integrates harmoniously with its environment while upholding the highest standards of architectural precision.
